Purposes of Practicum
For me, the purpose of this practice teaching is to provide us the opportunity to apply pedagogical knowledge and skills in practice. One of the aims is also for us to be able to understand our role in the larger whole of the profession and in the extended operational environment of the school. This student exchange is effective since it offers a broad based benefits and outcomes for students keen to embark on this international adventure.
Pocedures of Practicum
1. I observed the class where I will teach.
2. I assisted Ms. Yeni in handling the class.
3. I was assigned to different classes for me to see different teaching styles of teachers, and to observe the class as well.
4. I was told about my evaluation day.
5. I asked Ms. Yeni about the subject matter that I will teach.
6. I asked for a sample lesson plan that can serve as a guide for me.
7. I made my own lesson plan.
8. I prepared all the materials needed.
9. I familiarized myself with the songs that they sing.
10. I taught.

Outcomes of Practicum
I learned a lot in my teaching practicum in Kidsville. It helped me to have self development and awareness leading to enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem. I met new people as well, and those people helped me to widen my knowledge about the field in Education. I learned different pedagogy, techniques, and strategies from the teachers in Kidsville, which I can surely use in the future. I can say that this practicum really helped me to apply into practice in a particular setting the concepts and principles taught in the classroom.
Challenges of Practicum

The language barrier was a problem for me. I think as a teacher, communication is so important in teaching children. It is one of the best way to connect with them. I wanted to converse with my students and listen to their stories but sadly I cannot do it because sometimes I cannot understand their language. They are still young, that is why they are not told to speak in English, unlike in Kinder. And maybe the second one is how I get their attention. Sometimes, I had a hard time getting their attention because they are easily distracted. So as a teacher, I realized that I should be creative in finding ways to make my students engaged in my activities.
Overall Impression
Overall, I can say that my teaching practicum was fruitful since I learned a lot from it. I experienced hardships, but I was still able to surpass it with the help of my cooperating teacher. My mentor told me that I did a great job on the day that she evaluated me. She observed that I really prepared my instructional materials, and my lesson plan as well. She noticed that preschool students are really hard to manage, but she told me that it was great because I was able to handle them. With all the learning and experiences that I gained, I will make sure to bring them with me, and apply it in the future once I become a teacher.
